Say exactly when it's due
A real date, or terms like Net 15, beats “upon completion.” Clear due dates get paid sooner.

Do I have to charge sales tax on an invoice?
It depends on your state and on what you sell. Many services aren't taxed, while most physical goods are. Check with your state's revenue department; if you don't charge it, leave the tax rate at zero.
